It's June and temps in our area are starting to get steamy. When temps reach highs in the summer time I know I can feel a tad overheated so I often imagine how hot my poor German Shepherd is feeling with that super thick coat of hair. So as a lover of my pup I often look for ways to keep her healthy and cool during the dog days of summer (ha ha, see where I went on that one?! Corny I know, let's move on).
You are going to love this super fast & easy ice cream recipe for your pup. With only 3 ingredients it doesn't get any easier than this & your dog will LOVE you for it (even more than he/she already does, of course).

Before making this recipe always be sure you are OK with your dog consuming these ingredients, you may want to use different yogurt or tweak this recipe according to your pups diet. Yogurt is a good source of protein, calcium, and probiotics, all of which boost your dog's immune system and help them get over an upset stomach. Plain Greek-style yogurt is the healthiest yogurt for your dog, and there are a ton of tasty additions you can throw in that your dog will enjoy. I like to use Greek yogurt for my dog since it's higher in protein and it's essential for your dog to get enough protein in there diets.
This recipe can be made with or without CBD. We give our Bohdi CBD to help combat her separation anxiety. We recued her from a shelter so she sometimes struggles with separation anxiety. At the end of this blog we will discuss the benefits of CBD for your best friend. Until then, let's make some ice cream shall we?

Here is what you will need:
16 oz of plain yogurt OR Greek yogurt
1 ripe banana (smashed up)
1/3 cup of homemade peanut butter (you could use a bit less if desired)
SunKissed Greenz CBD Pet Oil- Follow directions on bottle as this goes by the weight of your dog and can vary depending on what kind of pup you have.
Instructions
Place all ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. You can also do this with a hand mixer and mix your lil heart out.
Once all of the ingredients are blended, pour the mixture into your desired containers for freezing. If you don't have molds around the house you can also use ice cube trays. Don't worry, your dog won't mind what shape you use.
Place in the freezer for at least a few hours to harden.
Feed to your pups and watch them cool down and enjoy there frozen treats.
Now that you have made your dog a tasty summer treat let's briefly discuss what CBD can do for your dog. Here are some ways CBD may help your best buddy:
Reduces anxiety: CBD reduces the symptoms of separation anxiety and stress from noises such as thunderstorms or fireworks.
Helps fight cancer: May stop the growth and spread of cancer cells.
In the treatment of convulsions: At a certain age, very often, dogs can suffer epileptic seizures or convulsions. The use of CBD can reduce the number and intensity of these episodes in our pets.
Anti-inflammatory: CBD relieves discomfort and pain, as it is an effective ally in treating inflammation. Specifically inflammatory bowel conditions and chronic diseases.
Protects the nervous system: Helps improve problems in the nervous system and the spine.
Stimulates appetite: Helps increase appetite in cases where our pets have stopped eating. It also decreases nausea.
